Between sea and sky

Between Sea & Sky is a softly textured abstract landscape inspired by the meeting of pale coastal skies, distant water and sun-washed earth.
Layers of chalky blue-grey and soft white create an atmospheric, almost weathered sky, interrupted by a slender line of deeper blue on the horizon. Below, warm stone and sandy neutrals are built up with tactile palette-knife marks, giving the piece a raw, organic quality.
There is a feeling of standing quietly at the edge of the landscape and looking out towards the distance, open, peaceful and slightly windswept. The contrast between the cool sky and warmer foreground brings gentle definition while remaining true to the understated aesthetic of Muted Palette.
