Distant light

Distant Light is a softly layered abstract landscape inspired by the quiet meeting point between land, sea and sky. A delicate horizon of muted sand, stone, faded blush and soft grey runs through an otherwise pale, ethereal composition.
Subtle palette knife marks and gentle variations in texture suggest a faraway shoreline illuminated by changing light, while the generous areas of chalky white create a wonderful feeling of openness and space.
There is something hopeful about this piece, the suggestion of light appearing in the distance, quiet and understated rather than dramatic. Its restrained tones and tactile surface reflect the calm, natural aesthetic of Muted Palette.
