Washed in light

Washed in Light is a softly atmospheric abstract inspired by the gentle tones of a shoreline bathed in pale coastal light.
Warm sand, soft ivory and chalky white are layered together, with expressive palette-knife texture gathering around the horizon. The raised marks hint at distant water and breaking waves, while quieter areas of blended colour create a feeling of openness and calm.
There is a beautiful sun-bleached quality to the piece, reminiscent of warm stone, pale sand and the hazy light of a Mediterranean coast. Subtle rather than literal, the landscape is left deliberately undefined, allowing texture, light and feeling to take precedence.
